QUIETUDE is een geluidsinstallatie gemaakt met geluiden en gedachten verzameld tijdens lockdown. Een zoektocht naar stilte op blauwe momenten. Over intimiteit en de onmogelijkheid ervan. Over de afstand tussen mensen. Over het stille uur, waarop de wasmachine meedraait met je gedachten.
QUIETUDE is a sound installation made with sounds and thoughts captured during the lockdown. A re-interpretation of the silence of blue moments, an imagining of intimacy and the impossibility of it. It is about distance between people, about the silent hour, when the washing machine turns with your thoughts.
De installatie werd getoond in KIOSK, Gent, in december 2021 als deel van de tentoonstelling ‘Encounter in Resonance’. Het maakproces werd deels ondersteund door een onderzoeksbeurs kunst van de Vlaamse Overheid.
The installation was shown at KIOSK, Gent, in december 2021 as a part of the exhibition ‘Encounter in Resonance’. It was developed partly with a reseach fund of the Flemish Government.
